seeing the animal in its natural settings
    …"
    The artist
    received numerous
    honors and awards,
including the Humanitarian Award for assisting the
Pygmies of the Ituri Forest in the Congo
    "to
    preserve their forest home

    over 20 safaris
    to
    South Africa,
    Central and
    East Africa,
    the
    Serengeti Plain
    and
    Mt. Kenya
. She served for many years as
U.S. Art Director for the East African Wildlife Society and often lectured
    on
    "Animal Anatomy"
    and
    "
Africa Through the Eyes of an Artist
    "
    .
The La Jolla Art Association observed: "(Ms. Schultz) has
    a special empathy
